See all our New Jersey brewery reviews here!
During my recent trip down the shore, I visited another brewery that I’ve been planning to check out for quite a while – Last Wave Brewing Company in Point Pleasant Beach. It is located perfectly for Jersey Shore travelers, on Bay Ave, right off Arnold Ave. Can’t get any easier to get to on a summer day at the beach. It has its own small parking or, if it’s too crowded, I guess you can park at the Stop&Shop across the street.
Last Wave has a very spacious tasting room, a long bar, several picnic tables, and some extra room with comfy couches. Even on a cold winter weekend the place was buzzing with lots of people. I guess it’s become a trendy watering hole in town, and you have many options for take-out food around if you want to spend more time here.
From the 12 beers available on tap when I went, in January 2019, here are the few that I’ve tried:
- Greenroom: A stronger Imperial IPA at 7.5%, with a strong flavor for serious IPA lovers!
- A-Frame: A 6.1% hazy IPA with a very smooth taste and some wheat flavors. Very good summer beer!
- Quiver: Another good hazy IPA, a bit stronger than A-Frame at 6.6%. Combining the unusual taste of the Comet hops with some fruity aromas.
- Board Breaker: This 9.1% spiced Belgian ale was my favorite. A strong Abbey-style beer with a a variety of flavors.
They also had several ales and porters, but I also love it when breweries focus on IPAs! And their IPA’s were really good. Also great location near the beaches. Definitely a frequent stop on our upcoming beach trips.
If you’re looking to rent a house at the shore, check out ShoreVacations.com, Jersey Shore’s biggest vacation rentals resource. It lists hundreds of rental homes and condos from Sandy Hook all the way down to Cape May (including Belmar, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Ocean City, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City or the Wildwoods). It’s a one-stop website for planning your Jersey Shore vacation, featuring beach information, weather updates and more! And of course, it has a full list of all the Jersey Shore events this year.
