In our quest to find the best breweries close to the Jersey Shore, we probably haven’t found anything closer to the shore than the Bradley Brew Project in Bradley Beach! This nice brewery is just 6 short blocks from the beach, a short walk for a break from the sun. Considering the regular beach traffic and parking situation in the summer, you don’t need to drive here, it’s an easy stroll.
The location is very cool, there’s a lot of room inside, and it’s also kids-friendly (there are some games available to keep them busy while you enjoy the brews). There’s also plenty of eateries around on Main Street, to pick up some food that you can bring in.
The Bradley Brew Project opened in the spring of 2018, and I visited for the first time in May 2019. Here are the beers I tasted:
Unicorn Girls: A light (5.4%), easy to drink hazy pale ale, with a nice mix of hops and strong flavor.
- Can I Put The Hops In: A good IPA at 6.7% with a mix of a light pine and stronger citrus flavors.
- Cleaning, Doing Laundry or Making Beer: A really unusual light stout, at only 3.3%! A session beer with roasted coffee aromas.
- From Making Dreams: My favorite so far, it’s a double-dry hopped New England IPA (7.5%), with great flavors from the Citra, Mosaic and Cascade hops.
As you can see, these guys spend a lot of time naming their beers! And it was nice to see they have a pretty large and varied selection, so I definitely need to go back. They have a pilsner, lager, sour ale, bock and others – and yes, most have elaborate names.
As of May 2019, Unicorn Girls was available in 4-packs and everything else in crowlers (good looking ones!) or growlers fills.
If you’re looking to rent a house at the shore, check out ShoreVacations.com, Jersey Shore’s biggest vacation rentals resource. It lists hundreds of rental homes and condos from Sandy Hook all the way down to Cape May (including Belmar, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Ocean City, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City or the Wildwoods). It’s a one-stop website for planning your Jersey Shore vacation, featuring beach information, weather updates and more! And of course, it has a full list of all the Jersey Shore events this year.
