The Freehold Raceway Mall has added a new and innovative eatery to its food court and retail amenities.

OH YES! AZUCAR CUBAN CAFÉ, a new Cuban Café fast casual made a splash with the launch of its first of several locations on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in the food court at Freehold Raceway Mall, offering the first true fast casual concept of authentic fresh flavors and natural handcrafted foods in a food court mall environment. The results were stellar evidenced by the lines with many returning for seconds and thirds, giving its founder, all the affirmation that several years journey of passion and quality come to life!

What about the numbers? Well, supply and demand, an American story, was evidenced with same day repeat customers, telephone ringing off the hook with take out orders and catering requests. You know a good thing when the same customers keep coming back for more and an executive for Apple requests catering of their company meetings. Nothing can beat quality.

In opening Azucar Cuban Café, its founder recognized that people have become much more sophisticated about what they eat and drink and a demand in value as well. The concept is inspired by its founder, Maria Cardoso, Cuban born and graduate of the French Culinary Insititute, who states “I love the enjoyment that food brings to people’s lives. Azucar Cuban Café is also introducing a perfected and innovative confection. The inspiration and love for wines and pastries is behind its founder’s perfected and innovative confection the Vino Cake. “Baking and cooking has always been my passion ever since I was gifted, at the age of 8 years old with an Easy Bake Oven for my birthday, and it is a large part of my family’s culture. Cooking for family and friends has always provided me with so much pleasure.”

In addition, the restaurant’s sustainable amenities include energy appliances, kitchen equipment, and sustainability efforts in its eco-friendly compostable packaging.

Azucar Cuban Café is partnering with the Harvest Program as an alternative to throwing away wholesome surplus food by donating it to local non-profit organizations that help people in need. Azucar Cuban Café caters to every diner’s need in addition to takeout and catering service. Menu offerings include authentic Cuban flavors from the world famous Cuban Sandwich to traditional Cuban fare, and a variety of healthy options.
