The #HotNJ competition, created by food blogger Chris Fotache to find the best Made in New Jersey hot sauces took place on March 28, 2015 at Chilangos in Highlands. After the panel voted, the winners were Blair’s FF15 Passion for Best Hot Sauce, Heartbreaking Dawns Mango Habanero for Best Medium / Mild Sauce and Krazy Flav Digestive Turmoil for Best Flavor.

Our review of Blair’s FF15 Barrel Reserve collection, their newest line of exquisite hot sauces. It’s headlined by the FF15 Passion, a rare combination of heat and flavor, made with Scorpion, 7 Pot, Jolokia and Fatalii peppers, as well as coconut, mango, passion fruit, rum, lime juice and guava nectar. The FF15 line was handmade by Blair Lazar himself and also includes Soul, Roots and Truth.

This review focuses of an up-and-coming Monmouth County-based hot sauce producer. Krazy Flav has a great line that puts flavor before heat. We tested Mango Erruption, Digestive Turmoil and Apparition, and liked all three of them!

The third part of our series about Made in New Jersey hot sauces focuses on Hot Sauce 4 Good. It’s small company based in Hillsborough, NJ which makes small batches of flavorful sauces. Read our impressions of 4 of their hot sauces: Lo-Heat-O, Sub-lime Cilantro, Hot Garlic and Autumn Spice

Continuing our series of reviews of Made in New Jersey hot sauces, which will lead to the #HotNJ awards. This time we focus in Highlands-based Born To Hula and we review the Habanero Guajillo, Cayenne and Ghost of Ancho sauces.
