Dads Ride Free All Day on Sunday, June 15, 2014
This Father’s Day, Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Water Parks in Wildwood invites dads to compete for the title of Curley’s Fry Eating Champion at the classic seaside attraction’s Fourth Annual Curley’s Fry Eating Contest. And, all dads can feel like kids again with free rides on all three piers and both water parks on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
Kicking off at noon, Curley’s Fry eating challengers will devour the famed fries to see how many 1lb buckets can be eaten in five minutes. There will be two competitions, the first for amateur contestants, and the second for professional eaters. The grand prize winner for the amateur division will receive $500 and first place in the professional division will receive $1,000. All participants will receive a complimentary ride and water park wristband and one additional wristband for a guest.
This year’s competition will take place at Joe’s Fish Co. at 25th St and the Boardwalk with Cat Country 107.3’s beloved Joe Kelly as the master of ceremonies. Families can cheer on dad or dodge bits of potato in the audience, as contestants typically consume as much as 150 pounds of Curley’s Fries. Cat Country will also provide entertainment and games from 11am to 12pm and between competitions. A legend on the boardwalk since 1974, Curley’s Fries has locations in front of both Mariner’s Landing and Surfside Piers. The Annual Curley Fry Eating Contest is open to all participants ages 18 and older; to pre-register contact Tyler Jacobs at firstname.lastname@example.org. On-site registration and check-in begins at 11am.
Fathers will receive a Ride and Water Park Combination wristband good for all day admission to all Mariner’s Landing, Surfside, and Adventure Pier, as well as both water parks. Dads can pick up their wristband at any Pier ticket booth, Guest Services, or the ticket offices at Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis.
With more than 100 rides and attractions to choose from, the entire family can ride on one of the largest ferris wheels on the east coast, loop upside down on the Great Nor’easter coaster, splash down one of the steepest log flumes, and much more.
