A review of Sea Isle City-based Hank Sauce, a hot sauce made at the Jersey Shore. We tested four sauces (Herb-Infused, Cilanktro, Camouflage and Hanks Heat) and shared our opinions. Also check out the brief interview about how they got started!
The #HotNJ competition, created by food blogger Chris Fotache to find the best Made in New Jersey hot sauces took place on March 28, 2015 at Chilangos in Highlands. After the panel voted, the winners were Blair’s FF15 Passion for Best Hot Sauce, Heartbreaking Dawns Mango Habanero for Best Medium / Mild Sauce and Krazy Flav Digestive Turmoil for Best Flavor.
We had the pleasure to listen to, and review Monmouth County musician Taylor Tote’s debut CD, her Superman music video, and ask her a few questions about her personal Superman and other super heros, her favorite artists, rushing the stage at a Hall&Oates concert or moving to a music town.
Our review of Blair’s FF15 Barrel Reserve collection, their newest line of exquisite hot sauces. It’s headlined by the FF15 Passion, a rare combination of heat and flavor, made with Scorpion, 7 Pot, Jolokia and Fatalii peppers, as well as coconut, mango, passion fruit, rum, lime juice and guava nectar. The FF15 line was handmade by Blair Lazar himself and also includes Soul, Roots and Truth.
This review focuses of an up-and-coming Monmouth County-based hot sauce producer. Krazy Flav has a great line that puts flavor before heat. We tested Mango Erruption, Digestive Turmoil and Apparition, and liked all three of them!

A review of New Jersey’s hottest new attraction, Diggerland USA, a construction-themed amusement park. Located in West Berlin NJ, next to the Sahara Sam’s Oasis waterpark, Diggerland featured rides based on real-life construction machinery, from diggers, excavators and backhoes to tractors, dumpers and skid steers that customers can drive around dirt tracks.
Monmouth County native Taylor Tote is releasing her debut EP in style, with a performance at the beautiful Two River Theater in Red Bank, NJ on February 20, 2015. In addition to the EP release, Tote will also be celebrating the world premiere of her new music video, “Superman”.
