2nd Annual Iron Girl Sprint Triathlon to Take Place on September 7, 2014

Jersey Shore Events Iron Girl Sandy HookWomen will take a stride toward female empowerment and a healthy lifestyle at the Iron Girl Sandy Hook Sprint Triathlon on September 7th. The race – which begins and ends at Gateway National Recreation Area, located in Highlands, New Jersey – takes a scenic route around the Sandy Hook Peninsula. As you swim to shore, you will be able to follow the light from the Sandy Hook Lighthouse, as well as loop around Fort Hancock during your 15 mile bike ride. Iron Girl Sandy Hook provides women with the perfect opportunity to show us just how fit, strong and healthy we all strive to be!

Part of a series of more than a dozen race events that got its start in 2004, the Iron Girl Event Series features triathlons, half marathons, and 5K races. The series is designed to empower women to take charge of their fitness and offer a competitive outlet for women of all ages.

The race starts at 7:00am and includes a 1/3 mile swim, 15 mile bike and 3 mile run.

The event continues after crossing the finish line with finisher medals, a post-race catered breakfast, awards, giveaways, and more.
