On June 30th, 2010, Jersey Media Network hosted its first Shore Vacations Business Networking Party at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como. The objective was two promote its flagship website, www.ShoreVacations.com, which has been in business since 2002 and is currently the largest Jersey Shore vacations rentals website. It connects summer rentals owners from Sandy Hook all the way down to Cape May (including Belmar, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Ocean City, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City or the Wildwoods) with hundreds of thousands of tourists who are planning a Jersey Shore vacation.
As a first time event, it was very successful. Over 120 vacation home owners and local business representatives filled up the outdoor Tiki Bar at Bar A, and they enjoyed networking with their peers, the party lasting until after dark, almost four hours after the first guests arrived. Jersey Media Network President Chris Fotache stated that the event was not just about promoting his company, but about helping local businesses grow new relationships, because if they grow, the shore economy will grow, and all companies, including Jersey Media Network, will benefit.
The special guest at this event was Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini, who represents the shore towns between Sea Girt and Atlantic Highlands in the New Jersey State Legislature. In a short speech, Mrs. Angelini thanked the ShoreVacations.com website for helping people come to the shore, because “anytime we can get people to come to the Jersey Shore, they love it. We just have to get them here”. She finished by telling the ShoreVacations.com team “Keep up the good work!”. Also in attendance was the Lake Como Council President Brian Wilton. The event’s proceeds benefited CASA for Children, a non-profit charitable organization with a mission to make a difference in our community by recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to become advocates for children whose families have been cited for abuse and neglect. CASA of Monmouth President Cindy van Brunt, summarized the organization’s mission and thanked ShoreVacations.com for the support.
Sponsoring the business event were Coastal Baby Rentals (the shore’s premium baby equipment rental company), Smart Touch Sanitizing (which sanitizes summer rentals by eliminating any odors), the Asbury Park Boardwalk and Wesley Grove Condominiums (offering dining, shopping, entertainment and ocean living), Gifts of Nature (a Manasquan store selling organic skin care products) and Halfacre Law Office (with nearly 20 years of experience in real estate transactions). A series of other businesses offered numerous gift cards, prizes and other giveaways, like Tommy’s Coal Fired Pizza, CJ Montana’s, Atlantic Eye Physicians, The Dockside, Bella Mystique, Boondocks Fishery, White Butterfly of Jackson, Suzi’s Sweet Shop, Point B Gallery and Dr. Liz Dentistry.
The success of the event came from the large variety of business represented. There were vacation home owners from Belmar, Point Pleasant or Seaside, home improvement services, realtors, mortgage brokers, media and advertising companies, financial advisors, restaurant and store owners, health and fitness professionals, insurance agents, attorneys, IT companies and many more.
